The Drug Team prosecutes cases involving adults charged with the possession, manufacturing, and/or selling of illegal drugs such as marijuana, cocaine, and ecstasy; illegal uses of legal drugs such as prescription fraud; driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs (DUI); and DUI-related vehicle wrecks causing injuries and/or fatalities. The team is also responsible for civil forfeiture actions in cases where property, such as cars and money, is used in connection with crimes. Forfeited property enables local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to fund future crime prevention initiatives and to recoup expenses associated with criminal investigations.
